Reasons I’m Thankful for Immigrants

Thanksgiving Day is one of my favorite holidays. What better way to celebrate than by sharing some of the reasons for which I am thankful for immigrants? Below are just a few.

  1. I come from a family of immigrants. Without them and their support, I would not be where I am today. 🙂
  1. Immigrants come from diverse backgrounds and have unique experiences. When they share their culture and traditions, it enriches our communities.
  1. Much of the food we eat on Thanksgiving Day – and every day – is harvested by immigrants. According to Farmworker Justice, there are approximately 2.5 million farmworkers working on U.S. farms. Of those workers, it is estimated 71% are immigrants.

Tell us, what are you thankful for?
